PERALTAs, Breaking No Squares

The Peralta brothers (Kuya Joff, Kuya Jiji, and Joy) are all Bicol-based, focusing now on their respective careers & families. We had frequent gatherings when Mama Flor (grandmother) was still alive.

Kuya Joff, The eldest of all 16 first cousins used to be our grandparents' favorite- the lone one who was seen by Lolo Ping before passing away in 1970. I remember papa used to brag everything about Kuya Joff...he was just so proud to be the latter's uncle!

Ever and anon, He's every inch a gentleman. One who's socially articulate and corteous in all his dealings. Gifted with a sweet tongue that best suits his profession with an esteemed Pharmaceutical Co., he lurks himself as well into sports like firing while spending with extravagance for his interests (motorcycles, cars, guns, branded items, etc...). Nonetheless, Kuya Joff is all wool and a yard wide!

Kuya Jiji, the typical silent water that runs deep then , had been my roommate for a year when I stayed with them. Probably the tallest of all cousins, he & kuya Joff used to join the league for the basketball tournaments in Ligao. Now a descendant of his mother's long-time profession, he's inhabiting an unpretentious life.     

Joy is a family-oriented chap who's been there failing or sailing and somebody who could converse current events with much conviction. Being consistently spiritual, he now adheres himself to his comforted faith. Although holding dissimilar creed than anyone else in the clan, Joy is never seen with apathy; instead, he's the ever loyal & compassionate element of this family! Aside from Kathy & Ate Den whose ages are close to mine, Joy was also my playmate.

Joan, the youngest of all cousins, has also proven that clinging with comrades, watering holes, and nomadic occasions could still add another feather on her cap. As a mom's buddy, her wish is oftentimes her command. Notwithstanding, she's fond of sending requests in order to receive self-gratification. Now preparing for a bigger career leap, Joan does stick to her profession.
